New Year’s in LA Part 1

New Year’s Eve in Los Angeles Part 1

Hollywood.

When you want something that will feed desire in Los Angeles, to take you back to the Golden Age of Hollywood or the intrigue of 1930s France or the lure of pre prohibition in New York, you turn to the Houston Brothers.

Below is what they’ve cooked up this NYE.

Pour Vous

One of the classiest end-of-the-year events in LA, the Pour Vous New Year’s Eve Masquerade Ball features tunes spun by DJ Holly Marilyn, a daring cocktail menu by renowned mixologist Francois Vera, and a crêpe food truck on the patio.

In the spirit of a true masquerade, the elegantly dressed, A-list Pour Vous clientele don masks as they mix and mingle throughout the high-class lounge. In 2013, the Pour Vous New Year’s Eve Masquerade Ball tickets are $25 for general admission, and include one drink and one food ticket. Table reservations are $800–$900 (with promo code), and each table can accommodate from 8 to 10 guests. Table reservations include a punchbowl, bottle of Perrier Jouet Brut Champagne, and one food and drink ticket per guest.

La Descarga

For this New Year’s Eve in Los Angeles, La Descarga is the place to be. Guests puff on fancy cigars, sip on festive cocktails, and compete to see who has the best poker face at their Havana Casino Night New Year’s Eve party. The festivities at this 1930’s themed rum bar include a gambling competition in which prizes are awarded to the three gamblers with the most money by the end of the night.

The venue enforces a strict dress code, but if the name, which is slang for “jam session” or “after party,” is any indication, this fiesta is anything but stuffy. The Havana Casino Night tickets are $20 if purchased in advance and $30 online. Each ticket includes entry and $500 worth of casino chips.

Dirty Laundry

Dirty Laundry will be offering only 40 $25 walk in tickets.  All other reservations for that evening will be table reservations and can be booked through the website www.dirtylaundrybarla.com.  A special guest DJ will keep the place rockin’ through a countdown and up until 2am.
