Throughout the years I have had the pleasure of becoming a fan and friend of Bill Phelps. You will be hard pressed to find a more candid, open, lovely man. His work captures the essence of the soul in a way that humanizes his subjects and opens your eyes to a captivating take on creativity. In addition to his work as a photographer, Bill also is a restaurateur and designer in his own right. His Brooklyn Café, co-founded with John McCormick, Café MOTO (Williamsburg), is a place that makes you want to slip inside and stay as long as possible. It’s not only a café with worthy cuisine and incredible live music, the ambiance is one that inspires an old school sense of romance and a much welcomed sense of playful curiosity.
