Dessert. The crème de la crème after any meal. If I’m going to be honest, I often fail to be impressed by the dessert concoctions presented at any restaurant these days. It’s almost as if they spent all of their time trying to impress you with wine lists and menu preparation that they forgot that the final impression rests solely on the dessert. Sure we can have a glass of Port or a Coffee, but they will fall flat if that masterpiece of sweetness is dull and lifeless.
This list is my homage to every Pastry Chef and Dessert Maker that took the time to create a sensual and intoxicating piece of culinary art by way of sugar and spice. Literally.
